How to source gloves from the factory
« on: May 06, 2013, 09:16:30 PM »

I go through about ten pairs of gloves a season and was wondering how easy it is to source gloves from a factory in India.

Is there a minimum order size?

How much extra to add colours?

All I want is a soft leather palm, no pittards and split fingers. I want them well made though, similar standard to puma.

Where is the best place .... SG or does anyone know who manufactures puma batting gloves?

do you just sweat loads to go through 10 pairs a season?

I think if you actually train and play loads and use pairs until the leather becomes hard with sweat then throw away you could rack up using 6/7/8 pairs quite easily. I know I'll destroy 4 pairs during the summer and then will go through another 2 or 3 over the winter purely because of game time and netting so much.

Johnny Shamrock cricket was taking in orders for custom gloves a few weeks before Christmas. Perhaps worth contacting him.

I can sort you out with some contact details for Champ if you like? Gimme a shout if you want to contact them. They do all the unbranded softs for Onlinestockists in any case.

you also need to be mindful of quality. ive not used them myself but i have heard the quality isnt great from onlinestockists. using someone like champ you will probably need a decent MOQ or if they do make some you will be kept waiting whilst they make everything else for the brands. the samples i had from champ werent the best if im honest.

i must admit im suprised to hear you going through so many pairs in a season. a pro probably doesnt use that much! may be worth looking at the sales and buying a few pairs at a time. by the time you have factored in shipping costs with the indian stuff your probably better off finding some discounted ones in the UK

I'm sure Champ can sort something out. Since they have their standard range as well, I'm sure they will be happy to deal in 10's and 20's.

my suggestion is that you talk to one of the forum brands who have softs you like and look for a deal with them when they place their next softs order.

thanks for all of your suggestions.

I think i am going to find out who makes the SG and SS gloves and place an order with that company. If it has to be 100 pairs i will just flog the ones i dont need at cost price

I found this company FC Sondhi India Cricket who make for slazenger but if anyone knows who make the old MH Distinction gloves that would be great!!

SS make their own softs, as do SG, they are two of the biggest players in the market.

Not sure, could be Sondhi? They also make for a lot of the bigger brands and some new ones like New Balance as well. Nt sure if they would entertain small orders though.
