Hey guys I've had a bat now used since the start of the season it's started to go a little rough on the back? Does this just mean I could do with oiling it? It's quite a big piece of wood which weighs very little does this have anything to do with it being dry?

has it got rained on? thats usually what it is, a good coat of oil and maybe a sand sounds in order

It got an ever so slight sprinkle of rain on it as I stuffed it up my top and ran off the pitch! Haha I'm worried about sanding it because I don't wanna change the colour of the wood

If it been rained on it should have raised white dry spots

use a really fine grit, like a P 1000 or something, and go over it lightly, and then re oil, that would be my advice at least

I get the same on the back of bats but its because I sweat a lot and it drips onto the back of the bat. I agree with Leachy: light, fine sand and a light coat of linseed oil and she'll be apples mate!
