Fundraising
« on: August 09, 2009, 12:34:38 AM »

Just wondering whether any of the members could suggest any good methods of club fundraising - we are looking to get two new nets at our club. Any ideas as to good money raisers? Any ideas whatsoever would be a great help. I know that we have signed up to do a calendar but that is it so far.......so any help would be apprecciated! Let me know what your clubs have done, anything whatsoever! thanks in advance!

Sponsored event, at work we pushed a set of sack trucks with 6 cases of beer 27.5 miles from our base to Salisbury Cathedral, sold the 6 cases spots for £100 each to the brewers and raised £2500+ from personal sponsorship from the 5 of us pushing. For the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Well - work on the 2 nets starts today, which is good news! Majority of the money came from ECB, Lottery Grants etc. but we managed to raise a fair wedge through things like race nights, monthly bingo etc.

Now we have the nets started (should be finished in a week), i said i would scout around for bowling machines and work out the price, new and second hand. I have a rough idea of new prices, but was wondering if any of you guys could let me know of second hand prices and where they may be available from?
I'm looking to take on the responsibility of raising the money for machine, so again get your thinking hats on for ideas to raise a bit of capital :D

club fantasy xi, assign every playing club member a price related to their ability and how often they play, then calculate a fair money limit that eveyone has to stay within so that they dont just pick all the strongest players. devise a scoring system where for example a player will score 10 points for every 10 runs or a wicket.

transfer window where 3 signings can be made sometime in july.

£10 to enter per person, 30% of takings goes as prize money divided between the top 3 entrants at the end of the season and the majority 70% of the money goes to the club

nice way to keep everyone interested throughout the season instead of just one day per year and a good way of making some money while having a laugh
