Played a very good team yesterday, they were relegated from Div 1 last season and should go straight back up. After scoring 50 midweek I was asked to open, which I love normally.

They were on me from ball 1. The bowling was good and came on nicely, but they were round the bat and all over me after posting 265.

As a keeper, I'm normally one to try get a reaction and walked straight into it. Some of it was borderline personal abuse which I don't mind, but was uncalled for. Not happy at all. Could have been pressure as all I could think about whilst keeping, was batting. Livid with myself for letting them get to me.

Anyone else had this recently?

Played them before and they like to chat even though there not that good at it but they've had a couple of players in so may be the new boys

They just did my head in Roco. I can normally shut it out but got into a slanging match. Didnt help that their short extra catching was giving me all sorts, he dropped me, then said dont (No Swearing Please) smile at me.

I then said you're the one chatting mate and dropped a dolly, who's the mug now. Didnt help my cause haha.

Still, we got the 2 best teams out the way in the last 2 weeks so hopefully we can crack on, get a full strength team out and play like we can

I won't bite if fielders are giving me jip because its pointless, but I always react to bowlers chat, just because I know they have to walk back to their mark... plus they aren't usually that good with chat!

Actually this worked for us over this weekend. We were playing SM40 in Finland Div2. We knew the guy loves to whack the ball as hard as he can. Spinner was operating and 3 dots, we started saying big shot coming boys and he tried to play a solid defence and got out giving a catch to 1st slip
