Smallish Mens Pads
« on: May 31, 2013, 07:05:56 PM »

I have always found standard sizes to be a little too big, the kind where strap keeps flapping about when fully done in. For the last 2 seasons I have been using Aero P1s and they have been brilliant. I am now looking to switch to a more traditional pair and will welcome recommendations.

They need to be on the smaller size as I have skinny calves. Also need to fit well with strippers.

Could do with something cheaper or even semi used, doesn't really need to be test level as I doubt there are any bowlers who pitch in at more than 75mph in our league.

Thanks for your suggestions.

What height are you mate ? I am only 5" 5' and use Willostix youth pads currently. I have previously used Bas Bow 20/20 in youth and SG Test youth pads. I never had trouble with any of the pads stated. Harrow sports sells SG test pads for a very good price.

Thanks Blazer I am just under 5'9"

Did you have any trouble running with SG, how heavy are they. I am used to the Aeros which are extremely light.

Ahh of course Batman...I have met him once. Will drop him a line to see what he has got. My only concern is weight and as I have said before I want something as light as Aeros or near.

My mate had then in Mens which I tried and I have to agree they are amazing. Just don't like the look. They are quite expensive as well, I think he paid around £100.

I use the GN Oblivion pads in small mens and they fit my skinny legs well. Very comfortable and good protection.

Got some GM 808 from Lord's sale for £25
Fits very well, and seem light enough.

Not happy with the straps hanging out though.

Very tempted to just chop them off a couple of inches.
