Advice on bat cracking down the grain
« on: June 04, 2013, 10:18:04 AM »

Got a bat that iv been knocking in with the mallet and nets have had it for about 3 weeks now and the bat has started to develop cracks down the grains if the bat even though is has a scuff sheet on. Is this a sign of a bat that's not going to last too long

Any advice is welcomed

I've had this happen before on a couple of bats I've owned. Nothing was taken away from the performance of the bats, in fact it felt as though the willow was 'opening up' and had a different feel when striking the ball.
