I used the word 'performance' in that context. I think people misunderstood it.

The answer is a �number.

G2 should be priced as a grade 2. There would be no such thing as a bargain if this was not the case

And my answer states mate i can hand pick a bat from Msr like i did the other day for 40 quid and looks wise i guess it looks better than a few grade 1 i can give examples if required on here and so far it has helped score 130 runs in 3 innings...

So why would anybody look elsewhere unless your a hoarder or a label man the 40 quider Steve offers are fine no wonder a couple of county players go there and just pick a few

The number of bats that have gone through my hands in the last 3 years i think 1 in 10 bats are special the rest are just average (cheers for the quote you know who you are).

Sometimes it refreshing using a bat you have no clue of it history...

G2 bat cleft price what the difference 6 pound or something is it that much harder to make it..

So the true answer is what are you willing to pay.....

The le and players normally just have slightly straighter less blemish grain thats all smoke and fire

I think people are misunderstanding the context of performance. It seems people have been sold 'performance' and not given it.

I'm talking about a G2 bat which performs very well indeed and as such is sold on performance NOT some bland sales bs. It actually go's!

Newbery sell their 5 star, which is G2, at around the �150-160 mark.

But I think the counter to that is that you can't know that a G2 bat will perform to an extreme ping level when it has just been finished. It's a G2 bat and should be sold as such. If, during your process of making the bat, you have produced an above average one, then great, make sure you replicate that process. But I don't think you can sell something that hasn't been knocked in yet as a performance bat.

Surely you can say that of any bay, regardless of grade.

I saw a whole bunch of Newbery 5 star bats at IJC recently. They all tapped-up as well as higher grades.

Aren't we all of the opinion, that g2 bats can ping and perform just as well as g1 bats? Surely if you're selling a g2 bat with good performance then its exactly the same as any-one else. Every manufacturer will try to get the best performance out of all their wood, regardless of looks

140-160, although my Bulldog only cost me 160, so I would never buy a bat from a shop again!

I wouldn't pay more than the price of a standard G2 bat from the manufacturer for one that appears to perform better than average.

Now where talking about knowing a bats performance purely on tapping up initially load of crock

Newbery are good at it because they have a special finish press I would bet my bottom doller on it tap most tk made bats they initially sound mainly better than most.

Back on topic it goes back to picked on perfomance blag many use how he hell is it possible I have had bats tap up great and play like kippers till I gave them there proper final press is me knocking it in.

Bats at all stages are as varied as forum members.

The new market in the real cricket world seems to be 200 sealing for new bats and prices rangeing downwards.

250-300 Australian $$$. Dont see the point paying for much more then that. My current bat cost me $180 aud And is a cracker of a bat.
