How many clubs have you played for?
« on: June 07, 2013, 12:37:09 PM »

How many clubs has everyone played for? Do you like to move around a bit or are you a 1 team Jamie Carragher type of guy?

I've played for two prem teams in my youth (16+) then 6 years ago went back to the club where it all started (4 divisions below) where I'm currently putting my efforts into improving the standard based on my previous experiences.

I left the first club as they got demoted (weak I know!) and the 2nd as I stopped enjoying my cricket and my dad was chairman at club I was at when I was a colt and asked me to help a colts team and it just went from there.

So excluding uni cricket I've played for 3 clubs in 12 years.

Played for one club for the past 12 years (well, three if you include Civil Service games and my wife's college side that I've helped out a few times) but played for three before turning 18 and three plus Uni side whilst there, so I guess that makes for a lot in the end!

Played adult cricket at 2 clubs.  If you include colts cricket as well, then I've been at 3 clubs

Blimey, this could take a while... I've played for 7 sides in the same local area in the past 10 years, if I remember rightly. Many different reasons, like being closer to uni, fallouts with management (it was the whole playing club, not just me!), and to play at a better standard. 8 if you include Uni.

Played for one youth side, Corsham academy.
Played for 2 adult sides, Lacock and currently Corsham.
Played for Lacock for a season as I wouldn't have got into any of the corsham teams

I've played for around 15 teams, but I've been playing for 22 years and have lived all over the place.

One Saturday club only. Played some friendly Sunday stuff elsewhere and one rogue youth team season at another club when I got frustrated with things as a kid but I came straight back the next year.

Two for me. Played as a colt as one club, then after a 5 year break when i went to uni i went back there but the club was really on its last legs so moved to another local club. Have loved every minute since i moved tbh

Played for my home town club until i was 20/21. I still live within walking distance of the ground, but decided to move to pastures new after the first team became an ever increasingly closed shop.

Moved to the club that Robin is the chairman of, we were in the league below my home town club, but won that easily during my first season.

We are now into our second season in the Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire Prem and recently beat my hometown club convincingly, very pleasing.

I played for my hometown from 9 to 20, with a few seasons at uni in amongst that. 10 years off and I've since played for my midweek side and one weekend team.

Being honest whilst I try my best every game I think cricket meant more to me when I played for my hometown. It's never quite been the same since I left but then again I'm nowhere near as good as I once was.

Since the age of 10 (in my late 30's now) I have played for 20 clubs - 12 different competitive teams, 2 university sides and 6 friendly/evening teams on a regular basis that I can remember! The longest I have played for one club has been 8 years (in 2 spells). I was thinking why I have left so many of my competitive clubs, 4 were because of living in different parts of the country but the other 7 have been disagreements with the inconsistent way teams/clubs have been selected/run, mostly affecting my personal treatment but not always the case. All resulted in not enjoying playing cricket where I was. I'm not very proud of this record and I am always jealous of people who have played and enjoyed their cricket at one/two clubs and wished I had played a lot less clubs.

I was but interestingly never left because a club got relegated - so I cannot be classes as a mercenary.

Played from 9 til 26 at one club through colts etc and moved 3 years ago to current club only to test myself as much better cricket, still play on the odd occasion for the first side but not often.

I'm a one club man in the 7 years I've been playing (no time at all compared to some of you) but have guested for a couple of other sides when they've been short
