First Bat Refurb
« on: June 07, 2013, 02:54:30 PM »

Afternoon all. Stumbled across my old and much loved Salix Satyr last week, and was saddened by it's sorry state. So after trawling through here for refurb tips, I thought i'd give it a crack seeing as i doubt i'll ever really use it again. So below are a few pics of my first, ropey attempt at a refurb. Any thoughts and suggestions/tips for next time would be much appreciated. I'm rather pleased with the outcome for a first go, to the extent i may even take it down to the nets next time! If anyone wants to know what I did, then i'll let you know!

Looks like a decent first go at it, i would be inclined to use a traditional G-Clamp rather than the modern style ones, i feel you don't quite get enough pressure with the modern ones. The traditional G Clamp also has a flexible head with helps with tricky profiles and concaving.

Indeed. Very impressive. I'll be taking to my bats like this shortly to start prepping them for next season.
