how long do you give a new bat before finally deciding you just cant get on with it ....?
I brought salix torque grade 1 and have used it in nets 6/8 times and for two short innings and I just can't get on with it
do I sell it and cut my losses or just keep going...?

What does "I don't get on with it" really mean? You struggle timing the ball, cant find the middle, hit the ball and it goes nowhere, etc. Difficult to advise without knowing.. May just need a bit more playing in...

It took me a full season and nets to get on with my SG and the ball flies off it now. You just need one good innings.

I use ss ltd edition which I get on great with perhaps the salix is just different but in my stance it doesn't fill me with confidence like my ss

Doesn't the Torque have no concaving compared to your previous SS. Personally the lack of concaving would make me more confident off centre shot will still go.

Think with any bat you need to give it time to adjust. Even two bats the same shape and weight feel different. One thing I would ensure before sticking with a bat, is that the middle position suits your batting.

did you buy the salix online or did you go to a shop and pick it up? reason I ask is because if you went to a shop surly it felt right/good at the time?

yes from a shop did feel good and still does but looking down on it in my stance well it seems thin compared to my ss
yes there is less concaving but that has never really bothered me in a bat

If you have lost faith its time to change.

The mental block will cost you and its more time to get of the mental block than time to get used to the bat.

ok so I decided to give my torque a run out today in a low scoring chase(93) and proceeded to smash 7 fours and a six in an unbeaten 41
safe to say I may give it a little bit longer before I discard it
