« on: June 09, 2013, 03:31:37 PM »

Two bats got injured :-[ during our club practice session

Any advice on whether to give an attempt to repair it or leave it as Unrepairable ?

1 Bat ( A KG 4 years Old)

2 Bat ( 1 year old BDM)

The KG will need a new handle, and the BDM is still salvageable if you can open the cracks up and get some glue in there.

KG - I think than I have to leave it as  I will not be able to rehandle it.
BDM - The crack has gone the full way through the back ? Is it worth to repair

I'd give it a go, you've got nothing to lose. I reckon some dowels will help; your best bet would be too ask one of the bat makers on the forum.

You can always cut the bat down into a fielding bat if the repair doesn't go to plan.

They are repairable in my opinion but it depends if you feel they are good enough Bats to spend the money on?

I've seen many worse than the BDM being salvaged, just some glue and clamp should do the trick! ;)

I think KG is gone. May be it is worth trying out fixing BDM. Looking at the pics, BDM has its edge broken to a deeper level. So, better handle it with care and use them for training sessions first. If you could get the impact u prefer, then try it on a match. Also, while gluing, be sure to strap it hard and possibly add 4 to 4 counts of string roll.

Both can be repaired, the KG needs re handling, and the BDM just needs a bucket load of glue lol I have just done 2 repairs similar to the BDM, I will stick some pictures up
