How much would you pay for.....
« on: June 14, 2013, 08:42:26 AM »

Ok, so my next question is this;

How much would you pay for a professional knocking-in service for your bat?

Assumptions; Return shipping is included in the price (mainland UK).
It will be knocked-in by hand.
A scuff sheet, heli/hammer edge can be added at extra cost.
Oiling is free of charge. You could choose from good quality bat wax or raw oil.

All bats, 1 flat price.

If it where done by hand, inspected and fully checked.

@procricket, I know you spend (often) weeks working on your bats so you are barred from this service!  ;)

I'm interested in what you'd pay and what you would expect from that service.

If I start the bidding at £35.

Ijc's price is hard to beat, if that includes postage then I can't see how anyone could beat that!

Beat that! saw what you did there! I can vouch for the IJC service. Top notch, and I know for a fact that they will work on a bat until it really starts to open up, rather than allow a fixed amount of time for the process.

Couldn't agree more. I got a Cadbury Newbery GT from them, opted for the knocking in service....its survived the trek across to OZ and was awesome to look at the blade and actually see where is had been knocked in properly.

Either going into or setting up someone else in....

And GBP35? Now that's seriously over-priced.

Suppose you have to decide, how longs it take and how much do I want to do it. If it took 2 hours some would say at £15 that's £7.50, some would say I charge £40,50,60,100 an hour sod it its not worth it, for £15 I'd certainly let a pro do it
