You could argue that Compton will get the chance to face the Aussie attack at Taunton this week which no other England player will have, so it gives the selectors a chance to look at Root as an opener and then make their decision on the position after both warm up games. However it doesn't look good for Compton if they are stating that Root is the best opening partner for Cook.
Just watching the Espn live scores for the Aus v Somerset tour match and Watson & Khawaja are having a ball hitting four after four... No singles or two's just all fours
Tauntons the place to be doing that to be fair, not the biggest.
The lovely English summer, do you guys ever have summer???, will wreck two Tests IMO.
To be fair you have to be an idiot to place international matches in Cardiff. Apart from the 2009 Ashes and the India v SA ODI, I don't think they've completed many matches. Most of the country have been reasonably dry for the first part of the summer and lack of rainfall was an issue until the last week or so. Certainly better than last year!
