Definitely a solitaire, they ping nicely and are custom made to your person preference. Even though they do have a tendency to deliver heavier bats they can be sent back to roger and he'll happily do a weight reduction.

Whilst its good that you can send them back surely if you ask for a certain weight you should get it, thus removing the need to send it back?

For the money you can't go far wrong with Solitaire. Quite a few team mates use them and tried a few. Most a bit heavy for me but one of them just flies. Lads all seem very happy with theirs. Roger did a great job on my salix repair and very helpful throughout, even texting pictures before carrying out re-handling.

Aldred Silver Sovereign springs to mind.
This!
Its a fantastic bat for only £125. Great ping, lovely G2 willow - and you can customise it they way you want.

Did you speak to Paul @IJC about the Newbery he's got?

I will recommend you to look for custom bats of Grade 1 quality. If you are not specific on getting a new bat, you could go for refurbished grade 1 quality bats from the forum. It is possible for getting them at the rates you mention. I got a Vantage, (though little used ones at nets), not a big deal on it. Its really great and weighs 2.11. Great ping and a very good willow.

I have to say that a Newbery Mjolnir 5 Star and a H4L DVL grade Hattori are probably the best bats I have bought at that price range. (Excluding all 2nd hand bats) I got my Newbery from Paul at IJC, but I think that any of the forum sponsors would be a good shout. If neither of these quite catch your fancy, you could try a GN Powerbow Strike, just look for one without a grain sheet! Even an A61 400 is a good shout, I hear IJC goes down to Robertsbridge (I think!) to pick some out quite often! :)

After speaking to a couple of people I have decided to go for a Red Ink. So far John has been brilliant and gave me a choice of 5 clefts. Can't wait for its arrival and will post some pictures up when it's here!
