I was just looking for a new cricket bag and was wondering if anyone has any good ideas on which one I should get if it is around the �50 mark.

Id be Interested to know as I've always found bags a hard thing to get right.

My gm wore through,
My slazenger all the zips broke,
My current kookaburra the bat pocket tore after 1 week.

I'd like a hard wearing one.

Problem being is that, when someone finds a bag that last a few seasons, the company has stopped selling it, once you realise it's a good one.

Bit more than 50 I know but the best bag I've used is my current which is a newbery sps very highly recommended but before that I had a newbery county again very decent in my opinion

Best bag I have owned is a Newbery SPS, also cannot go wrong with salix

I had an SPS, found it a little awkward with the 2 compartments on top of each other, much prefer my Island XL bag and a lot cheaper

Really depends on how you want to use and how much kit you have? How do you travel/commute etc.?

After having tried various holdall style big bags, I have now got a Millichamp and Hall T2 and finding it brilliant. I think I paid about �53 for it not so long ago. It seems to be very well made and is a stand up which is a bonus.

If it was just for the looks and I had the money, I would go for the leather bag from M&H which retails around �200.

I've just bought the salix pod pro, originally had the newbery SPs but found that was an awkward shape and too bully, then downgraded back to my newbery duffle. The salix is the perfect bag in my opinion, 2 padded bat caves in the base as well

I've had the Salix Pod Pro since the beginning of the season and am really happy with it.

It's not quite as long as my old Gunn & Moore 5 Star (the Salix is only just long to fit a bat in) and when I first got it I was worried it might not be big enough, but it actually fits more in than my old one does and is easier to pack up again after a match. It's taller than my GM was and a little bit more rigid so much easier to fit things into.

The only niggle I have with the Salix is that the bat tunnel actually runs as a sleeve inside the main compartment (even though you access it from the outside) and has a soft outer, so if your bag is full of kit and you try to put the bat in last it can be difficult to get it in all the way down. I sometimes find myself having to stand the bag on its end to be able to shove the bat in. It could have done with the bat tunnel being separated better from the main compartment. But that's only a minor niggle and when all's said and done it's a cracking bag.

My kookaburra Pro 1000 does the same 3fold. Bat pocket, helmet pocket and show pocket all take space from the main bag but access from the outside.
They need filling first,

I've got hunts almighty, its big enough to sleep in, 3 dividers and storage galore, I've taken out one section and kept it as 2 divisions, 2 bat pockets built in too, its a seriously big bag. Got it or �46 delivered off ebay

Imo you cant go wrong with a decent duffle bag, ive had the kook pro duffle bag for just over a season now and am very happy with it
