Vitas batting gloves
« on: June 19, 2013, 01:18:17 PM »

Just thought I'd post a quick review of some vitas gloves that Jake had sent me a while ago. I'd ordered some kit for my midweek team and we'd had some problems with the couriers, being the bloke he is Jake offered to send me some of these to try out to make up for the order being late. Entirely unexpected but it does show how good the customer service is from Vitas and is why I'll definitely be shopping with them again.

The gloves are pretty similar in design to other sausage types like the kook r900's and feel as well made as any other glove I've had recently. They're light and very comfortable to wear, the towelling on the back of the hand especially feels nicer than most gloves I've had for some reason. Palms are nice and soft with the usual extra wear patch near the wrist. I think part of the comfort factor generally is due to them not being the most protective, certainly the fingers are more flexible and perhaps less padded than the newbery sps 2's that I have but depending on the pace of bowling you face this wouldn't be an issue. The colours perhaps won't suit everyone but I quite like them.

I've worn the gloves for a couple of innings now and they're pretty good, I know Jake mentioned he was looking to tweak the design a bit before launching them properly so with a couple of little changes I think they'll be well worth buying.

Many thanks for the review Graham.

My main intention with these is to first of all get the supplier (or a supplier) to get the colours correct, these were supposed to be pink with a very small amount of blue, not blue with a small amount of purple!

Also the stitching on my own pair is not of the highest standard, and i agree on the protection front.

I am much happier with our pads and also our split fingered gloves which have sold out. Hopefully moving forward i can get the v2.0 softs to a higher standard, good enough for the website and also the scrutiny of the forum.

We have no junior sizes, these may be part of our next order whenever we make it though.

We asked them to copy the design of the B&S Supreme softs, good spot.

We do not at the moment, simply because i am not yet ready to launch them to the wider market as i am not 100% happy with them. They are selling very well in store though, and the players we sponsor have been very encouraging with their comments on their kit.

Better to make sure everything is totally spot on than rush out something not quite right to the market, thats what i believe anyway. If you are interested, i can fire some pictures and prices your way?

If they're selling, surely they're doing alright! ;) Do you think you'll have your gear sorted for next season then mate?
