Helmet Embroidered Patches

Looking to get a one-off patch made for my helmet. Can anyone on the forum do this? Or recommend someone who would be inexpensive to do just one?

To produce any embroidered image you need a DST file which can cost between £25 and £75 depending on the complexity of the badge and the number of stitches. Once you have the DST file this can be used to embroider the image/crest/badge on to any garment that can be embroidered. This is why 1-off badges for helmets aren't commercially viable.

The cost of an embroidered badge is typically between £3 and £5 depending again on the number of stitches and quantity required.

DST files have to be digitised by a professional company

Thanks for the replies guys.

Has no idea a one off would be THAT expensive but understand why. May revert to chopping up an old shirt at the end of the season.

I think there is a company online that does stickers for plastic and fabric helmets, i will try and find a link for you

I remember seeing this, I haven't tried it myself but I guess the stickers would stick ok, this is what the guy said

I had some stickers made up for plastic helmets for my club in February and used a company called Diginate, based in South London.  You can specify the shape, size, etc and do it all online.  The only thing you need is a high quality image file of your club badge.

It's a bit of a fiddle to design the badge online, in the end I just sent them the file and some instructions on what I wanted and it was all good.

I had only six stickers made up as a trial run, on square cut clear vinyl 50x60mm and they have been superb.  There is no minimum quantity and for the six I paid only �8 including postage.

That sounds like incredibly good value and worth a go. I have seen ‘transfer’ type stickers on fabric wrapped helmets but I suspect those will crack over time.

Had a quick look on the website so will give it a go.

Quick update - I contacted Diginate and got a fairly prompt reply suggested they could send me some existing samples to try as they're not sure which type would work best (if any).

Will update in due course.
