Started slow, picked up a bit then got injured.

Just did a proper tally (yeah I really have nothing to do today) and so far am on 1399 at 59 for the season.  The question will be whether the finger will heal in time for that to go upward.

12 matches, 8 innings, 61 runs at 20.33, 5 not outs. Had one go at 5 and the rest of the season at 8-9, I've found out that when I go in earlier I hit the field too much but if I go in later I can play it to the deep fielders for singles. I'm not a big enough hitter to go over the top either. Bowling, 98.4-22-274-20, ave 13.7, S/R 29.61, econ 2.78. Bowled better than that, should have had about 30 but for fielding/lack of luck/beating the edge too much. Fielding has been decent enough but dropped a few too many for my liking!

Only played 4 games as been busy. Managed to get 108no, 89no, 70 odd and a 20 odd. Averaging 150 I think. Might retire now on a high !!

My Tempo is a heavy cleft so taking wood off isn't the best option.
I'm going to bite the bullet and stump up for a new bat. Going back to my career weight. An expensive experiment, still it's been an education.

After tomorrow's game we will be exactly half way through the season and my stats don't look all that impressive.

63 overs bowled, 295 runs conceded(4.68 rpo) with 10 wickets at an average of 29.5(I think you could have worked that out for yourselves though..)

I've taken more wickets than anybody else at the club and am joint highest on number of catches taken. However one 2nd team bowler has taken 8 wickets for the loss of just 92 runs and as there is only one bowling trophy for both the 1st and 2nd team it looks like I'm not going to win it unless by a miracle he fails to get to the minimum of 15 wickets to be in the running for the trophy.

Regardless, the aim is to stay up and we are currently mid table so the team is doing well which is the main thing.

Its been my worst first half of a season ever, which is strange as technically im the best ive ever been and ive been feeling seriously good. Being triggered in three games hasn't helped i guess

I've still not come out of retirement, but my 12 year old has so far had a good season.
He's been playing under 12's in the hertfordshire league and under 13's in the cambs league.
And even had an outing in the Sunday 2nds.
So far he's had 26 innings, 13 not outs, scored 543 runs at an average of 41.77.
I bought him two new bats at the start of the season 1 was custom made by Tony at hunts county and the other was made by Gary at choice. So far the only one he's used is the choice willow one, I've got to say the county one still feels a little hard.
As for the rest of the season, not many youth matches left. Got a few area games during the holidays and possibly some games for the 4th eleven. Not sure what his target is but knowing what he's like it'll be something around 1000 Mark. I had originally set him a target of 400 for the season.
