Gray Nicolls 2014 Launch
« on: July 01, 2013, 09:40:14 PM »

Attended the Gray Nicolls 2014 launch at Twickenham today.

Biggest plus point were the vastly improved bags, the top bags are feature packed and made from quality materials. They have a really, really big duffle bag too.

Bats were a bit hit and miss for me, same with softs. I'm sure it will all grow on me though. I must say I do like the new Powerbow shape. They have launched 2 new handles which are options on the 4 star, 5 star or players model ( depending on which range of bat you choose) one handle has shock absorbing foam incorporated, the other is a octagonal shape on the top hand to prevent twisting on off centre hits.

Love the Powerspot and subtle Dynadrive update, scoop is gone, Legend remains.

Didn't take a camera but do have the catalogue, no doubt will see the gear at our own place very soon too, will take pics then.

Handle techs sound interesting. Are there any plans to provide some sort of trial, a la GM club evenings, to try them?

Handles do sound interesting, bags with better features would be good to - always annoys me having to just chuck all my kit into one big space.

I'm desperate to see if these changes to the Dynadrive. How can they make it more lovely?

I've had a longing I'm waiting to itch!

Thanks.

And a picture of my all time fave batter!!!

Not sure about the new stickers. I like the clean lines.
Still, it's a lovely bat....

Hang-on, look at the weight range. I read the Vitas thread and I'm sure they state that it's hard to get an LE DD that heavy due to the scooping.

It hard to get one that heavy from the top wood (which tend to be lighter) reserved for LE/Custom mades. The 'standard' Dynadrive is generally a bit heavier, i have seen one at 2'9 though

Makes sense. I should have joined those dots together!
