I doubt it'd make a noticeable difference. And covering half the bat would spread the extra weight pretty evenly I'd imagine  ;)

Does adding or removing a scuff sheet to a bat drastically change the pickup??

Agreed Cam, makes absolutely no difference in feel or weight,  but makes sure that my kit lasts longer. You can probably guess that I am quite destructive, because the toe goes on most of my bats, or the splice falls out!

I don't know about the pickup but a scuff sheet can weigh up to 0.5 oz.

So if you have a bat that is 2 lbs 9.5 oz a scuff sheet can get it up to 2 lbs 10 oz.

In the grand scheme of things 0.5 of an oz is nothing, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two in a blind test!

Here is a summary of my bat collection as it stands.

Red Ink Custom - 2lb 11 - not used in any matches yet, just some nets. Has decent ping, picks up quite nicely. Doesnt feel any heavier than bats ive got that are lighter. Very good oval handle with second grip. Comfty in the hands. Really well made and finished bat.

BB Distinction Shape - 2lb 11 - Current match bat. Been used for around a season and a half and plays very nicely now. Feels much lighter and the pickup is amazing. Very nice ping, ridiculous amount of wood in the middle. Will definitely get another BB at some point.

SAF - 2lb 10 - used for around half a season. Quite light to pickup, decent ping.

GM Flare - 2lb 9 - Used a but for nets and a couple of games. Been leant to team mates a few times too. What you'd expect from GM really. Nice ping, decent pickup. Doesnt feel any lighter or heavier.

GN Powerspot - 2lb 9 - Not used at all yet. Not even got round to adding a second grip. Only tapped a ball on it yesterday, and the ping is pretty good! Thought it might be a bit hard pressed, response from bouncing a ball was as good as on the BB. Will use it soon I think.

Hits Hard stickered at Vantage Lithium - 2lb 8 - Used in a few nets. Very nice pickup and ping. Will probably use in wet games.

Bulldog - 2lb 7 - also got this at the end of the season. Been used in a few nets, probably going to a team mate soon. Seems pretty nice for what it is.

I think the BB is my favourite. Feels very suited to my batting. It also has the best grains out of them all, and i just love the meatiness of the shape!
The Red Ink has the best finishing.
I think the Powerspot actually has the best ping. Havent used in a net yet but if it feels as good off the bat as it does just bouncing a ball, it may be some bat!

Here is my new bat. Courtesy of Grieg at kookaburra himself. It's an impulse players bat with menace stickers to match my Ian bell batting gloves. Little bit disappointed they've use the poor quality lower level stickers on it but oh well. Only originally paid for a ricochet 1000. Bat itself fully dressed weighs 2,10 but feels and picks up like a 2,8 .

What's the difference in quality of the stickers?

These ones seem like eBay replicas. A plasticy feel to them.   The higher quality stickers have texture and are thicker.  Also the silver section is Matt and dull wheras the higher grades are actually shiny and reflective

They might have used lower level stickers because the menace this year only comes in ultra and T20 models which aren't anywhere near top of the range mate

They still have the good stickers on them.  These feel like eBay knock offs

I've always been a firm believer that the better looking ones don't perform as well!
