Some unbelievable pieces of willow there, cheers for sharing.

What strikes me tho is that there are pro bats with heartwood. Kinda puts to bed an earlier thread about heartwood and its potential grading.

Not really as they supply there own willow so can grade there own willow however they like. And MSR had 2 bats last week that looked better than some of these and were grade 3!

My point was that some wouldn't entertain the idea of buying a top end bat with a slither of heartwood on it, yet the top end batsmen see no problem with this. I guess it depends if you are buying on looks or performance. I totally get how some might want a completely clean face with no heartwood if they are paying top dollar. However I don't think a professional would use a bat if it didn't perform to the highest standards.

Its because 90% of the people on here haven't a clue what they are on about!!!

Those MSR bats are grade 3 because under the sticker, in the edge or back there are big big knots and wood filler on them. I have a £35 MSR. With a sticker and strategically placed edge and back stickers it looks grade 1. Shame that when you remove the stickers it looks and plays like a park bench. For £35 you can't complain though, although it only lasted 4 nets and has split from the splice towards the toe. I'm sure MSR would replace it as their customer service is great.

That'd be an interesting thing to try, a 'batoff' done blindfold. Obviously it'd have to be limted to pickup and whacking with a mallet. Be interesting to see if people could pick out their own bat.
