Well from experience last year i bought a GN Legend and i sent it off to be knocked in at choice willow ( hemel Hempstead) and it sounded really good until its first game then i hit a 6 then went again for one and it snapped in my hands :( total devastation all around the club as my lovely bit of will broke. so i wanted to hear about your expensive bat which turned into money well lost.

Newbery Tour, not so much that it's a bad bat, more that I'm too cautious when using it, so can't bat normally! :-[ I don't think I've broken many bats at all and I've been pretty lucky to get some good ones!

The Afridi LAM was disappointing!
First real outing in the nets and the handle went! Luckily Chase was next door so cheap Pakistan handle was replaced by a decent quality one.
Now the bat goes well!  ;)

Did have a Legend myself and couldn't get on with it! Just didn't suit the way I played. The cleft was top notch but sold it in the end, and the guy I sold it to got on really well with it! Go figure!!

Bradbury Players

Bradbury use too be top notch bats when they were in Taunton but I think a lot are made overseas now where the wood is pressed really hard. The result was a hard bat that took ages to open up and not the lovely soft pressed ones of 6 years ago :(

My M&H Original Low.
Bought it from Talent Cricket last year as a 2lb8, but now currently weighs 2lb11. Was convinced through the whole of last season that it was heavier than I thought/was told. Also has a dreadful pick up.
Still managed to score my first 50 with it, which is also the reason I haven't sold it.

MH 2012 Distinction, shockingly thin handle and very very poor balance. I just couldnt bat with it, so invariably started an innigns with it and changed it after a few overs.

sold for £200 practically brand new.

Why didn't you send the two halves back?! I would have done if I'd just paid £400 for a bat!!

Luckily I've never paid much money for a bat, I got a Hunts County Insignia bought for me when I was 16, cost £75 and was a plank, it cracked the full length of the blade during the 2nd season.

Genuinely surprised by all the recent posts saying the saf hades wasn't great. I quite fancied one.

If anyone has ever asked me I have provided my honest opinion. I am sure some have had good SAF bats, mine wasn't one of them.

SS Ton LE, probably my own fault for picking a heavier bat than my usual.
