Had a Bradbury Players with a middle the size of a pin head! Sent it back and told it was fine. Had a Legend and a L&W Signature that were the most beautiful looking fence palings as well.  :(

Shame to hear the Bradbury's. I have one of the first in the UK. It's battered, bruised, cracked and sounds like it is delaminating but it still goes.

Have to say an Adidas from the outlet shop or a couple of Puma's that I really should have given more time to before deciding I didn't like them.

I think this just demonstrates that the bad versions of a product are what people notice. For every Bradbury, gn, fn, etc that'sbad, there are far more good ones that nobody mentions.

Cant fault mine. Goes like a rocket even though it is ancient and been fixed 4-5 times.

All you see on this forum are people raving about how nice their bats are when they recieve them and before they have been used in a match. Having spent top dollar it takes a brave man to say that it was a duff one after they have actually used the bat. Look at all the SAF bat reviews on the forum screaming how good they are yet there seems to be some people accepting differently now.

Its such a personal thing to like a bat and especially with a custom bat you will never actually pick up the bat until its paid for and delivered. Just look at the various stunning bats that are always on sale here. Ive always preferred a knocked in top grade bat thats been lightly used as im an impatient bugger and they are usually sold about 30% cheaper.

My GM Epic 909 is taking bloody ages to open up, not expensive as I got it in a PDC mid season sale but as happy as I am with pick up and feel it seems like it will never open up. Nt quite ready to give up yet.

The worst bat I have had that ost me good money was a Mjolner SPS just couldn't seem to find the middle or feel comfy with it, possible the small edges played on my mind but I have seen Mjolners smash the ball as far as any bat in some people's hands but I tried for half a season 3 years ago and only scored about 200 runs in first half of that season. Git over 800 in second half once I changed to another bat, thinkit may have been my Powerbow which for me was the exact opposite to the Mjolner.

I bought an unused GN Legend for $300 off a bloke, was an absolute plank. On sold it again for $150 to a fella in my team and he found it to be a plank as well. Gave him my paradox to try and haven't seen it since!

Even off the forum I am hearing a few people complain about Legends.

Can it be something to do with Gray Nicolls way of grading own willow.

in terms of performance yet to hear complaints about the SS Gladiators, BAS shadow or Bow 2020 or CA top stuff or MB LEs- . (wrights way of grading willow for SS, CA or MB and BAS).

When i went to kingsgrove, the GM Original, Original LE and Players all had better grains then the GN Legends

Woodstock TDF.  I hasten to say it wasn't a bad bat, it just didn't feel right for me.  I'd always had traditional-shaped bats and this one was heavily concaved with large edges and I struggled to find the middle (as did others who used it).

I did score a rapid 50 with it (team score was 70 when I reached 50) but this was the exception to the norm.  The feeling of 'middling' an edge was a strange experience!

Beautiful looking bat and I'm sure its going well for someone, it just didn't float my boat...

Mine goes like a rocket and the last person to borrow it made an unbeaten century, I'm still not getting in with it as well as my more traditionally shaped Chase but I'm reluctant to give up on it after less than a season

I think that's spot on.  I used it for a season and just didn't feel 100% right with it.  Got a custom B3 with a bit more behind it and much happier.  Hope yours continues to go well...
