CA Plus 12000 vs. MB Limited Edition?
« on: July 18, 2013, 06:36:49 PM »

Simple question of which one would you choose and why?

Has anyone had both?

12000 has bigger edges more concaving
MB LE has less concaving

Which has better resale value?

its not a Car ..just a Cricket Bat
depends on condition of the used bat
Fail to understand the point here...would u buy a bat depending upon its resale value (not sure if anything like that exists for a bat...may be if its a classic ..retro..piece of history )

Thanks for the pics. Both look like lovely sticks and based on these pictures it would be very difficult to choose.

You mind me asking roughly what you paid for each?

I really like the look and profile of the Malik, traditional sort of profile middish middle and not much bow, looks a really good buy.

Same here. MB LE over CA anytime.

Not to forget - MBs are much cheaper for better value.

CA look better and pickup a touch better but for me they dont play as well. MBs have bigger, easier to find middles.

Where do you get the MB bats from? I'm looking at getting an Indian or Pakistani bat.

I don't mind getting one posted from Pakistan.

That Malik looks great. Where is it from and how much was it? I maybe in the market for one.

From what I've seen, the MBs have next to no concaving, some of them actually have a traditional slightly convex shaped spine! CAs have very variable concaving, I had an 8000 which had very little concaving, but then I saw my friend's 12000, which seemed to have relatively deep concaving. I think that the MB offers better value for money, you couldn't go wrong with either though! My friend did say that he found that his new CAs (purple stickered ones) twisted a lot in his hands for off-centred shots. Naturally, I just told him he needed to middle the ball more, but I think that the flat face, relatively deep concave and round handle are probably the reasons for this. They still go like guns though!

Hope this helps. :)

I have a cousin who plays first class cricket in Pakistan, have asked for a couple of MB LEs... Usually tend to ask of a couple to increase the chances of me liking one of those. The other is most likely going to be up for sale. Watch this space.

MB LE is a fantastic bat, my one is concaved. I got it from Sialkot shop, service was really good and would recommend buying from there. Actually, 3rd bat from left in the above link is what I bought. Stickers are awful though, so I re-stickered them cause I know I will never sell it. Unbelievable ping eh!

I have both CA Plus 12k and MB LE. Both are good bats but to me MB LE has a slight edge over CA. CA has a better pick up but MB has a long middle and better ping !!
