Spartan @ Barringtons
« on: July 18, 2013, 08:55:31 PM »

For this interested, the good guys at Barringtons are now stocking Spartan!

Known about this for a couple of months but didn't realise he was going to pull it off.

So that makes just Romida and Barringtons I think? Unless I have missed something glaringly obvious

I was at Allrounder when they were unpacking their first load. There was the Clarke and Prior ones. Picked up a few, nice but nothing special. There was one 20 grainer but the rest around 6-10. Pick up and balance seemed alright.

I thought it was odd that the two different bats had (to my eye) the same profile and shape.

My first impressions of Spartan bats - RUBBISH.

Very poor quality and you can get better bats at 1/10th the price from alleys in Meerut and Sialkot.

The will be luck if they survive half the time BoomBoom and Woodworm did.

I wouldn't say rubbish, saw a couple at the weekend which went really well. They have got some good tactical advertising so will bd round a while.

Money can't guarantee success.

Quality makes and sustains brands in the long-run.

The bats I have seen were just about average in quality, finish and pick-up (I am being very generous)

I've only seen one and it looked a belter, also the balls it hit took a while to fetch.

Indian rubbish, worse than BAS and SS. Just because Gayle and Clarke are paid to use their STICKERS people think they are great. Johnson Charles and Darren Sammy don't quite have the same affect for BAS though
