If you're using them to bat in, you used to be able to get hardened plastic inserts for them to protect your toes. Might be worth a shout, most 'proper' cricket batting shoes have reinforced toes.
Have they? I haven't had any protection in my Adidas/ Puma or Asics spikes.
I happen to like Asics spikes, each to their own I guess. They'll be reinforced I would think, maybe not with hard plastic, but try hitting something on the front of your toes in your batting spikes, then try it in a pair of running shoes. Maybe it's just me, but I thought they felt stiffer as if reinforced. Also, it seems like it'd be a pretty good idea for them to be reinforced.
