Spartan Bat Models
« on: July 25, 2013, 11:10:22 AM »

Hi Guys, since the new Spartan range hasn't released in Australia yet I was wondering if anyone in the UK has been able to go and have a look at some of the Spartan bats. Is there any difference in the SVR, MP and MC ranges? Thanks

Buying bats based on endorsed players and stickers isn't wise

Most pros are sponsored to use STICKERS not necessarily the bats

To answer your question

No they are all £100 Indian bats being sold at a lot more but with different coloured stickers

Buy a PR or SS at half the price if you want an Indian bat

Have seen the MC and CG ranges personally, did nto get a look at the MP range.
They just vary in grades basically.
@Garrett- do you know where to get PR bats from ?

Hi

I saw the MC and the MP range of bats at my local stockist and with the eye, I could see no difference between the bat shapes. Yes, they are expensive but the ones Ihave seen in matches have gone well.

Dunno, some folk just like to use gear that their heroes use, if they like the bat, they will look after it carefully and also gives a psychological boost to their batting, as they are using a bat that their favourite batsman is using. If you were to take the stickers off, I'm sure people couldn't tell the difference between a £150 plain bat and the Spartan, but stickers do inspire confidence of some sort. Of course, you could just buy the stickers etc, but we are all against fake stickers. ;)

From a glance, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the MP, SVR and MC ranges, but the CG profile does have a lower swell compared to the other three.

I played against somebody who had a MC 1000; he scored a half-tonne and it made a satisfying sound. To be honest it didn't go any better or worse than any of the other brands on offer (Kook, GN, GM etc) but it certainly held it's own and appeared to have a substantial middle.

I own a Spartan it's last years CG model from oz and I haven't made the runs with it I want to but when I net and play it sounds above the other bats being used and I didn't mind paying the extra to be different as I think it was one if the first proper ones to be in the uk and its a stunner

Who makes Spartan bats? Is it SG, SS or a another bat maker?
