See that i like a lot... I do get the loads of grains thing but i personally prefer that cm spacing and all fairly equal.

The key is when you cut and shape the toe and the grains fall straight down with no wave... beautiful and you know it'll go like a train. Also the natural depth of colour in between the grains.

Ooh I like those! I always prefer the heartwood (if there is any) to be always be equal to the sapwood, not just a thin little strip.
