B3 DB3
« on: August 05, 2013, 05:09:27 PM »

Thought i'd put a couple of photos of one of the standard B3 bats - which was very kindly donated by B3 for us to raffle off on our 6-a-side day.

The bat itself is one of the standard profile (DB3) and is the lowest (1 stripe). It ended up being won by our 2nd team opening bat - a young lad who will put it to good use, although i think there will be a few cheeky offers from other players.

We had a bit of a knock up with it yesterday (after we drew it and found he had won) and it was very responsive. Apologies for the poor photos - were taken in a bit of rush so i might try and get a few more on saturday. For the lowest grade it was a good face with 8 relatively even grains, and very big for its size at just over 2lbs 9oz.

Looks good! Do you have a full profile shot? This reminds me that I asked about this earlier and was meant to forward the email to someone at the club. Also, how much did you sell each raffle ticket at? Seems to have sold out pretty quick!

Unfortunately I dont have a full profile shot - thats what i was going to sneak on Saturday. The photo of the edge doesnt quite show it, but it seems to have very low edges, with the spine slightly higher. We are arranging a club visit shortly, and if this is the standard of the lowest grade, i'd be very interested in seeing what else they offer.

We actually had our 6-a-side a few weeks ago and sold most of the tickets on the day (100 off) and the remaining ones to other clubs on the following Saturdays. We sold them at £2 a piece.

The reason we drew it yesterday was B3 (Streaky) was at another 6-a-side where they were had put a team in. Think they had a few drop out, but Streaky was very energetic in the field - pulling off a few diving stops to the amusement of the crowd.

I picked up a raffle bat on Friday again it's 2.9 so thought it'd add to the thread - great way to raise a bit of money and of course exposure for B3
