Lekka RDX Big Hitter
« on: August 08, 2013, 02:19:19 AM »

Previously owning a SF Blaze which was purchased from VKS Sports around 3 years ago, I got the mid-season urge to purchase a new bat. Fancying one of the newer style T20 bats but not wanting to go to the extremes of the mmi mongoose it came down to either a Lekka RDX Big Hitter and a Black Cat Jester. Unfortunately the black cat jester is no longer being made and I couldn’t justify the price of a Joker.

I emailed James from Lekka and after a few back and fourths I decided to go for a Lekka RDX Big Hitter, which after using a few times can only be described as a GUN!

Weighing in a 2.10lbs with a feather light pickup, people first believe it weighs a lot more because the profile is so large (42mm edges). After picking it up they think im lying about the weight because it picks up is so light.
It’s been knocked in a used a few times and I’m simply getting a lot more value for my shots including a nice outside edge that flew down to 3rd man for 4 (I’ve got to use all the bat haven’t I).

I can’t fault James’s customer service and the bat arrived promptly, He also threw in a Xtra X combi grip which I put on straight away and also came with a case and anti scuff sheet. it’s been a hit at my club as-well so I expect to see a few more around.

Its a 2p coin for scale and apologises for the dirty face of the bat I forgot to take pics before using it.

Looks very nice. How much are these nowadays? Still in the £170-190 price bracket?

Personally, I would'nt purchase one of these bats as they are made by a guy in thailand using an anglegrinder....

I think you'll find that isn't true, and even if it were, if the bat works and if good, what's wrong with it?

Nice work with the angle grinder. Does it make a bat any worse if it is an Englishman using English willow but makes it in Egypt. Not to me.

Looks like Lekka has taken Australia by storm with their latest offer on bats and grips. 99 pounds for a bat is beyond belief

Might be worth a punt. I feel he has something to prove.

I wonder what discount he would give if you bought both?

Lets be honest here, do you remember 'that' photo of Prince Harry? Will you remember the work he does or a misjudged moment with a camera.
