Running between the wickets
« on: August 11, 2013, 07:22:46 PM »

Ok so had a bit of a mare and run myself out today going for a single that was not on. But I don't think it was all my fault (or is it).

So the naff drawing above, shows me at batsman A, I have edged the ball behind and ran a single.
Then I thought I saw the fielder misfield so called the second from the bowlers end, while the other batsman went.
Should batsman B called me back?

I ended up being about half way. The bad thing was that I was feeling good at the crease which I haven't for a while.

Your call, you would be running to the "danger end" but bat B should also be sable to say 'no' if he feels there isn't a run.

Unfortunately I'd say this was your own fault, you're running to the danger end and its your call. If he knew there was definitely no run he could have called no but if it was me I'd run based on your call.

Dammit thought it was my call. The only problem I have is that, with me being half way down then the bails went down, it must have been obvious to the other batsman.

Looks like I will be doing some sprints this week!
