Have used these before with minimal fuss but have managed to waste three sheets trying to apply them to my MB LE. It was lightly oiled and left for over a week but just won't stick around the toe area at all. I've always felt the helicopter scuff sheets are lowish tac but that's a good thing because it means they don't leave any mess or remove any wood when taking them off.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong before I waste any more?

Give it a light sand, this allows the glue to stick to the wood better.

Sorry should have said - I've tried that too. The finishing on the MB wasn't great but would say rougher/ dryer than other bats. Would have thought that would make it stick better?! As it is, lightly sanded the face using an old worn bit of sandpaper and then wiped clean to remove any dust but to no avail.

Did you sand before or after you applied the oil?

In my experience its always better to apply the scuff sheet before you oil.

I know this may not be an opinion shared by all but have always felt the oil is to retain/ keep out moisture and scuff sheet to protect the face against the ball.

Also a light coat of oil and antiscuff has worked for me without fail in the past. Can't work out whats different this time.

The scuff sheet does exactly the same thing, oiling before putting a scuff sheet on is pointless, you don't oil before the stickers go on do you?

But a scuff sheet on the face doesn't help keep out/ retain moisture in the rest of the bat does it?! Only the face.

To be honest more concerned about bats picking up moisture then loosing it. That makes them heavy where as loosing it makes them lighter and usually ping more. Naturally they won't last as long due to this but I would rather it lost moisture and pinged for a season...

Which is obviously why you apply the oil to the exposed areas after applying a scuff sheet.
