so his newbery bat is going to have adidas stickers on it now - they must have paid big bucks for him to endorse their gear!

Maybe it will be his SS stickered or maybe he'll get the best of Adidas'. I doubt there's many who truly know what he's using at what point, he must get 100's of free bats his way.

Tendulkar has always had a endorsement deal with Adidas for their shoes and apparel. So it was logical for adidas to extend the association.

Also I read somewhere that only companies who have in-house or contracted manufacturing of equipment are allowed to put their endorsements on the bats, softs etc. (basically on equipment). This is the reason why everone from MRF to Britannia to Hero Honda have contracted either SS or RS or SG etc......

btw, Nike equipment will be available in the next season ...at least in India.....

he wont. He uses Morrant pads with MRF stickers and BAS gloves. Soft goods will remain the same except for the labels (i guess so)

I would hope Adidas change their range to accomodate him. Produce a Tendulkar line of goods, with his own stickers, pads and gloves. Would be a big seller in India.

They don't have to do that. MRF bats are huge hit in India - any guesses why? Just because the little master endorses them......

Also they may have to pay more in terms of royalty to the Little Master if they take out a specialist ST line......

But quite possible....... Fiat came out with a LE car with S10 and his signatures on it. Sold for 60% more than the normal car and 3-years of productions booked in the first year itself (limited to 100 cars only)

“I have had a fantastic partnership with adidas for 11 years. I have been using their clothing and shoes. Now, I will use the bat and pads too. The bat that I use now is lighter than the one I used in 1989. But, I have not drastically changed the weight of the bat,” said Tendulkar at the launch of the adidas range of bats and other cricket equipment that will hit the market in four to six weeks.

Adidas India MD, Andreas Gellner, said that inputs from Tendulkar, Australia skipper Ricky Ponting and Indian opener Virender Sehwag would be used to make the customised bats for the market.

Tom is right about him getting given 100's of bats a year, 500+ from makers, mainly from Indians as they want him to have the best and to meet him but also many batmakers will take him bats and then boast of making for him, M&H for one. However he actually buys bats from one person despite the freebies.
