This season I decided to prolong my match gloves by getting some netting gloves. After doing some searching on the net I came across Online Stockists. They have some decent looking Unbranded gloves for a very reasonable price. I researched Online Stockist and the feedback in general was good. So I decided to take a punt on the gloves. Including postage to Aus they cost me $50, a fraction of the price from any retailer.
After placing an order I got the standard auto emails confirming my order. After about a week I had heard nothing else so logged onto the website to check my account. Under the recent orders there was no trace of my gloves. So I emailed using the addresses in the contact us section on the website. I had no reply from either address so managed to get a hold of Ajit's direct email (thanks to Blazer). The next day I received a shipping confirmation and an email from Ajit letting me know it had shipped and will receive in 3-4 working days. To their credit the gloves arrived exactly 2 weeks to the day from when I placed the order. Which I think is pretty good considering they are coming from India. The packing was fantastic and included a free pair of inners.
Onto the gloves. Some people had said as they are designed for the Indian market they come a little snug. I would say my hands are very much average mens sized hands and the gloves fit fine, I also wear fingerless inners and they feel fine. They are comfy to wear and the protection seems top. Of course I won't be able to test the full level of protection unless I get hit on the hand whilst batting, and considering I don't think I've ever been seriously hit on the gloves I can't see it happening anytime soon, and I'm not prepared to punch away any bowling machine balls in the name of research!
The quality seems ok. Not as neat as top end gloves with a few noticeable stitches, again will only be able to tell if they last over time. The only minor cons are the sweatband and Velcro tab seem a little light weight, also the sponge at the end of the RH thumb is a bit annoying, will probably remove it completely.
Would I wear them as my match glove? Probably yes, but wouldn't expect them to last longer than a season (however I may be wrong) would say they would def suit a casual cricketer. Would I recommend to others? The gloves and online stockists - yes. For the price you pay they are worth it, and for me I'll be using them as my net gloves twice a week which will prolong my match gloves.
