What bat would you like to own in the future ?
« on: August 24, 2013, 01:53:10 PM »

I rarely post here, but I do stalk a far bit. ( It is amazing how much time you can waste reading about cricket equipment.)

Seeing as there are so many topics/threads out there regarding which bat you own and what you think of it etc, I thought I would start a thread on which bat you really want to try out or buy. This may help some of the bat makers who sponsor the forum get a gauge of how people are attracted to certain bats. I'll do my list to start it off.

1. Laver and wood Signature. ( I own a laver and wood reserve, which is awesome, so naturally I would want to know what James could do with this bat.)
2. Choice Praetorian. ( I have been told the man who makes these bats is very good, and I really like the profile.)
3. Any of the black cat bats. ( Just for the fact they grow their own trees, they could have some special secret that puts them above the rest ? )
4. GM Icon ( Because a few people on here have stated this is their favorite bat, even after using some of the top custom made companies.)

Do they?  I have a Black Cat and it is lovely, but I'm pretty sure it is also made by a certain well know Sussex batmaker...

I'm unsure who makes their bats, but they do have their own willow plantation and don't get them from J.S Wright like most others.

"Black Cat is one of the only brands to own a willow plantation- most buy clefts from a willow dealer.  This enables us to handpick the very best clefts that a willow tree can produce to craft our bats from, while other brands have to settle for what they're allocated by the dealer." According to their website.

fair enough - odd way to do things, but I suppose if you own lots of trees someone has to press and shape them!

Yes black cat do indeed have their own willow.
Anyway, not sure what bat(s) I'd like to own at the moment!
I have owned many and still own a lot! Possibly an Aldred would be great to try, although it would have to be seriously decent to live up to expectation and to compare to others I have!!

After watching the sky sports video, I'm torn between getting Gray Nics to make me a Cook replica, or a sort of hybrid between Lord Gowers bat and the one Athers liked the most, Ramprakash's 100th 100 bat, beautiful.

Maybe I'll get both  :-[

TEMPO  -  DYNADRIVE  -  NEMESIS

I want them all, sadly I'm around £450 short of the total purchase price - I wonder if anyone does them on HP?

No one likes an Ayr-Po Brucey, isnt that when you phantom and its a zero wiper and ghosts straight around the bend without flushing

I want to own a bat from one of the UK forum sponsors. Maybe try the hype of a genuine TK bat... If that could be guaranteed  ;)
