Very pleased to say Steve said he will replace the bat as its not made by Alex as stated on lords website so can't wait to see what I get this time hope its something a little better than this  ;)

Good news Simon, never doubted Steve would swap it ..... just hoped you could speak to him in person. Top bloke and very very good cricketer!

This is great news, when I put the original post up I thought the ksp (sorry!) was that Alex was going to be making the bat for some lucky person, in a design of their choosing. I can forgive the changing of the word "custom" to mean "custom choose from selected shapes" as in hindsight, it was wishful thinking but getting sent something made by someone else is just not on. Glad they are replacing it, good service from those guys. I hope you get a cracker.

I hope so as all I wanted was a bat made by Alex to my speck ok you got to go with certin shapes but it can be tweaked just was really not happy when I checked the shoulder stamps I even gave it half hour knocking in then something made me check and to my horror it was not one off Alex's so let hope I get something special as stated in the ad   :-[

Having just watched the "Ade in Britain tour the Gray-Nicolls Factory" video, John Gasson is actually their master batmaker having been there for almost 50 years! I think it would have been an honour to have had a bat made by John. May even be more of a collector's item with him due to retire shortly.

Yes they are making me a new one a cross between the e41 and the maverick with very little concaving we will wait and see but the reason I took the deal on is I wanted a bat made by Alex i have a few made by John Gasson already so no need for a new one  ;)
