hi folks
sorry to pester this fine saturday morning. but advice needed!!
i have already done one partmade (performs well but with a face only a mother could love kind of profile) so taken that experience on to the next one. got the shape and desired weight only sanding and handle twine to do. which is were i need you guys. i dont have a lathe so i did the twine by hand. it took over an hour and was very difficult to do. i watched a video recently (cant remember where or what it was called) where a bat maker used tape instead of twine? now i would love to try this as it seemed alot easier. if someone could advise on the type of tape required and if its really acceptable to do so.

I have known off a bat maker to use a foam tape around the Handel and the feel off the ball on the blade felt no difference and like the feel in the hand as got a bit off give in it if you know what I mean

If i have a bat in for repair that needs it, I re-bind handles by hand, takes me about 10-15 minutes. The more you do it, the better you get

i think what every-one means to say is get some pics up of your bat. this is what this forum needs! more bat making

I had a GN Legend made in-store for me at GCCC by Stuart Kransbueler(? On spelling, sorry Stuart!) and he used fiberglass tape on the handle instead of twine. He roughed it up with sandpaper so the grip could grip to it. Only difference was the handle was a bit thinner....
