Slazenger 2014
« on: September 05, 2013, 05:13:29 PM »

Slazenger just launched their new range. I've got an email PDF of all the new gear.

The V100, V1200 etc have much more of a classic Slazenger V on the stickers, and the softs have some progressive updates, but the bags and helmets haven't changed much.

The V12 and V6 continue with very minor cosmetic updates, they have also launched a V5 in blue, and expanded the Pro Tour softs range to match various price points.

Will confirm if i can share photos asap.

I think i quite like it actually, Poron, however is a terrible tradename for any compound!

At first glance, not feeling the new V. Kind of want them to move away from that for their core range, keep it only to their retros. Pro Tour softs are a plus looks wise though.

When I first looked at it I thought it was very slightly kippaxy but I guess you can't really accuse brands of copying colour schemes such as green and black!

I really like the retro stuff. I think the modern style branding looks like a rugby league jumper!

poron I think is pretty heavy.

The v1200 bat and the xrlite softs look sweet. Love the lack/grey dark look.

The retro range is okay. Quite cool. Would be more interested in whi
At the v5 profile is like, as the bumff tells me nothing

at least james will be happy that someone is now using his beloved poron xrd :)

its not too bad compared weight wise compared to other impact materials such as d3o as its used widely in the sports shoe industry is 3-6mm thicknesses. we used medical grade poron back in 2004-5 in our original gloves as it has no memory so recovers after an impact which is why its great in sole inserts to bounce back after having the foot hit it etc.

Not a big fan of the look of the V on the modern bats, but most stickers grow on me anyways. I quite like the Retro range, will be interesting to see if they've changed much in terms of profile. Seems like they're moving more production to the UK, which is always good as I prefer the shape of the UK V12 over the Indian V6. :) The softs look alright too, I quite like the compact look of the XRLite gloves, will be interesting to see how their flexibility compares to the rest of the range.
