i have always used just one grip. as an experiment, i added two more. was shocked at how much nicer the bat felt with 3 grips on.

I like a fairly thin handle, but also the spongy feel that  you get with 2-3 grips, so I sometimes remove the twine for tape and use 2 thin grips.

Additional grips with make a small change to the balance of the bat two but be aware that adding more grips can cause them to twist. I like to use two grips however on my current stick I had the handle double twinned which really makes a difference as there is no twist there at all and the thickness I like

Also when adding grips I think it alters where the middle on the bat is, so be careful. I remember it being talked about on here a little while back. I think it shifts the middle higher towards the handle.

It has to be the 'feel of the weight' or centre of gravity which moves , I can't see how the actual middle gets moved.

It may be that yes. I cant fully remember now I am sure somebody else on here will shed some light on it.

It's all about the 2 and a half grips.

Salix hybrid on the bottom (spirals at the base of the handle)
Half a grip on the bottom half of the handle
Either a Salix hybrid or a standard chevron on the top.

I have tried the half grip on the bottom with a spiral on top which I also quite like but it doesn't feel quite so 'spongy' as the two

Only ever used one grip personally! Saying that my hands are fairly small so that's probably why...

Always two grips for me.  Improves pick-up and love the feel of two.  One is too thin and three too thick for me...

I just stick with one grip - I'm not really fussy on the style either!

I believe its basically you've got more weight at the handle end of the bad. If you think of it as if your bat was perfectly balancing on a beam , and then you added an extra grip , the point of the bat that was balancing on the beam would have to be moved closer to the handle as there is now more weight up that end. In terms of actually using a bat this should make the pick up of the bat better as the bats kind of centre of weight is closer to you.

Personally I've only ever used one grip but may have to give two a go  :).

i have fairly long fingers, but the reason for using only one grip was because i'm used to golf (i.e, the handle would roll into my fingers, and THEN my palm). what i see with three grips is that i have more power in my shots, and i can move the bat around with less effort than earler. been a revelation really.

Generally 1.5 grips for me but at the most a full 2 grips. Prefer a slightly thicker bottom hand so grips tend to get cut in half and the half grip underneath an octopus or similar

Just the one grip for me, I like a handle of reasonable thickness, and like to have a better feel for the bat rather than a spongy feel. I will use two if I feel the pick up isn't right or the handle is very thin, but I'm not usually massively fussy on pick up. :)
