I understand that over the years the laws around the catching cup on the glove changed, but what are the benefits/drawbacks of having a t-shaped catching cup as opposed to a full web? I've been using Kookaburra Super Greens with a full web this year, but am looking for a backup pair of gloves for next year and began to wonder on the difference. Is it just personal preference in terms of aesthetics, or are there performance differences involved?

Can't say ive ever noticed a difference. You probably only catch one right in the web 3 or 4 times a season anyway, you should be using the 'main' part of the glove.

That's what I thought. Seems strange that there isn't just one style of web, but then I suppose the same could be said of different brands of batting glove looking different despite being the same.

On a side note, did I see Jos Buttler wearing Kooks with a t-shaped web in the second ODI? I thought they were all full web.

I've only ever tried full cup.  Would be interested to try a T-cup at some stage, just need to get some kit badger keepers at my club aside from me!
