Why Do My Pads Keep Doing This?!!
« on: September 10, 2013, 04:30:01 PM »

Alright,
I have a dilema that keeps happening to my pads, no matter what quality what manufacture anything.....it still happens :(
So ive got a question do any of you know why this happens; what am I doing wrong to make this split between the top hat and main part of the pad?
Cheers
Tony

Are you pulling the top strap too tight, causing too much strain on the join between the main body of the pad and the top hat?

I need to pull the top strap tight though to gain a good fit, seeming as I have quite skinny calfs

When your "padding up" it looks like you are not only pulling a little too hard on the top strap, but also that your pulling it at an angle which adds to the strain - perhaps continue to have it as tight as you like it, but just pull a little more gradually and straighter.

I use standard men's RH but I'm 5ft 10 and 15 years old so the straps are huge, but the length is spot on

Ah I see. I was thinking along the lines of going for a small men's size or youth for the size of your calves but you'll more than likely find them too short to offer full protection then.
