After taking the Most catches and stumping's, in the whole of the five Gloucestershire feeder leagues, it's time to take my keeping a bit more seriously. I have a pair of GM gloves which iv has for three seasons but the padding and protection has started to deteriorate, what, in your opinion, are the best gloves to buy? Or would custom made gloves be the best option?

Any help would be most appreciated

If you really like them and I imagine there now really soft and supple why not get them re palmed? If not the Warsop gloves are amazing best I have ever used and I also have a set of GN legends that I have not used yet in a match but seem very good also

The Kookaburra Super Greens I bought on a whim last winter for this year have done me OK this season, and I've got a pair of Kook 1000s coming when they're released courtesy of Vitas Cricket on here. I'll let you know how I get on with them when they arrive. As per Soulman's response though, if you're happy with the glove why not get them re palmed? If the rest of the glove is in good condition and you're comfortable in them it may well be the best option for you. With that being said though, it's always fun choosing new gear!

The Millichamp and Hall's are the best I've come across. Padded palms, soft and supple, gorgeous looking. Doubt there's a better pair on the market. MandH normally do a Xmas sale too so I'd wait for that.

Completely agree with Soulman. Gloves are the best when they are super worn. Makes the gloves nice and soft and give you an excellent feel of the ball, protection should never come into it if you are catching balls properly. I try and hold my gloves together with strapping tape! (Partly cause they are $270 a pop!)

I think everyone's opinion on the gloves you should buy doesn't matter. Keeping gloves are down to you and what you like. The cuff length/style, colors, amount of padding etc.

Go try a few pairs on and go from there.

Millichamp and Hall on Sale It's just cricket. I've used these this year and they are amazing!! so supple! I would be shocked if there is a better pair of gloves for �55. I reckon you could spend near double that and end up with a worse pair!

They have a white pair of keeping gloves which I haven't had my hands inside, but they look like they belong in cricket heaven.

Custom made are good if your hands have stopped growing. I have a couple of pairs of well soft Alec Stewart Slazengers if your interested.

What gloves are you using at the moment and why are you wanting to swap? Many keepers (myself included) will use a pair of gloves untill they are about to fall off the hands.

I have a pair of Geoff Wymer customs which I've had for 15 years, they need a bit of stitching and there is obviously some sign of wear but no other gloves feel just right.

Are they the old school black ones?

Not the best photo, it's worth watching the Jack Russell masterclass on youtube look at the state of his gloves! Held together by more plaster tape than leather!
