Finally got round to taking some quick pics of my keeping gear, and thought I'd share it with you.
Duncan Fearnley Magnum pads:
These were my first pair of 'proper' keeping pads, which I used when I played at schoolboy level. I'd forgotten how comfy they were until I put them on to train in one day during the season, and they've been added to my bag as a permanent fixture again.
GM Original pads:
These are the pads I've used all through this season for matches, using the Fearnley's for training and warming up. I was amazed when I put these on for the first time how light and comfortable they were, and the level of protection is very good too. They've also stood up well to the rigours of the season, aside from being a bit grubby they're in almost as new condition to look at.
Kookaburra Super Green WK gloves:
A good fit, and very comfortable, but they took virtually the entire season to break in. Some of this is down to the fact that I didn't really give much thought to breaking in a pair of gloves, thinking that playing with them would be enough. It seems I was wrong. They're pretty supple now though, and with a bit more work over the winter should be ready to go for next year. They'll share the bag with a pair of Kookaburra 1000s (Jos Buttler's gloves) which I've pre ordered from Vitas Cricket. Jake has reliably informed me that they should be here before Christmas, so they might have to go under the tree!
I haven't taken a pic of my helmet as you all know what a GM helmet looks like. I am still in the market for an Aero mask, although I am leaning towards getting a Masuri WK helmet and doubling it as my batting helmet. I should really hurry up and decide!
Comments, opinions, advice on breaking in gloves etc, all welcome
