Well 18 yards/22 yards is 18% less distance to travel and I would imagine 65mph on the machine would feel like 79mph due to the reduced reaction time. I did a couple at 78  mph to you Ryan so that would be 95mph  :o

To be fair, i'm not sure what speed it was but it's the quickest I've faced for a while. I'm just glad it wasn't short, that would have got painful very quickly.

Here is me batting on Saturday at the event. Thanks to Simmy for the filming.

Any suggestions for improvements?

You look like a good player mate! What standard do you play, prem?

I wish! I am a opening bowler predominately but have worked hard on my batting over the past 6-8 months. I played a few games batting 9-11 for our first XI in Cambs Tucker 1 (one division below the EAPL) and then the rest of the season in Cambs Junior 1, batting between 5 and 7.  Junior 1 is 5 divisions below Tucker 1 and the standard is pretty average Saturday league cricket.

I can sort a net out but the problem we have is that all the nets are occupied especially on sunday for indoor matches. I'll do enquiries and see if I can get one booked. I think you guys won't have time to go to the nets as there are so many bats to look at :D
Are you coming?

Myself and Nick are probably coming.

Not having a net probably suits me better mind. Looking at bats for a couple of hours is better....

I'm half way there, just need to score runs like one now!

I'm 21, took up the sport at 14 so bypassed nearly any junior matches except a couple of under 17 games. Due to me being picked as a bowler, I was regularly down as 9/10/11 so didn't get much batting exposure in matches. Last season was an improvement as I was batting top 7, in a pretty poor league and was successful scoring 135 runs from 6 innings with a top score of 80*.

For me now a days, selecting bat, watching some live cricket plus food makes a perfect day.
There will be plenty of food and most importantly show you some of the bats which we only give to professional players

It's like The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe Redders - you go into Asad's special cupboard and come out the back into some kind of wonderland full of willow and goodies.

Fortunately there isn't a sodding great lion waiting there for you - only Asad, with his till open.

Sounds like there could be Turkish delight.

Many thanks to all who came, hopefully the little extras like the B&S launch and the chat from the Hunts bat-maker were appreciated, as well as George from Stretton Fox and James from GM available for further help/Q&A. I didn't actually see much of the chat with Matt from Hunts, but everyone seemed to say it went well.

I have got some prices and further pictures of the B&S stuff and i will create a topic this afternoon, as well as a topic to extend the special offer on the Hunts Turbos to all on the forum.

I can't make Asads event, but hopefully i will see a few of you at IJC's one, as well as at Choice Cricket Centre.

Just polished off the last of the cake.... yum. :)

Looked pretty good Jake, sorry to have missed it. I wonder if Paul at IJC will invest in a kettle in time for his event...
