Not quite in the plums but 'Dangerous' Tim also managed to pin one on my left calf, highlighting one of my many technical deficiencies and giving me a real incentive to correct it - especially as I'd been similarly nipped by the bowling machine earlier (I know I shouldn't encourage him, but Tim's hurt more!).  :o
Big thanks to Paul for organising this by the way, great to meet some of the site legends and sponsors. Also thanks to Kaedyn for manning the bowling machine for a long shift.

Great to meet everyone that went last night. Nice to be able to put faces to names!
Feeling a bit stiff today though...

Pretty sure that was with your foot planted firmly in front of off stump :D I put it down to using a cricket ball rather than a bola ball, rather than me being significantly quicker than the bowling machine (what speed did you have it set at - 65mph?).

yep, was a fun evening, and good to put faces to usernames! And to highlight all the areas I need to be working on pre-season!

A big thank you to everyone who attended last night! Unlike others, I was fortunate enough not to get struck in a painful area (wearing Stretton-Fox protective gear certainly helps!), although an employee of mine almost took my head off with a nasty bouncer (that was miles too quick for me!)  :( His hourly rate and Christmas bonus will certainly be revised for that!  :)

It was a really enjoyable event and good to meet everyone, even those like wayward hayward who was really tucking in to my leg spin!  :-[ Special thanks to B3 for travelling all the way down from Nottingham and providing some test bats that were apparently enjoyed very much by those who were lucky enough to use them.

Hopefully we will arrange a similar event around the start of next season.

I still haven't collected net money (£10) from one or two of you (you know who you are), so please PM me if so.  I will leave with a few photos from the shop portion of the event - it definitely reminded me that we need more space in there!

I think it was around that at times, but towards the end Kaedyn slowed it down a bit - only after upping it to 70 at one point though (without telling me - ignorance is indeed bliss as I actually managed to hit it!). Foot planted firmly, yes I must get rid of those concrete boots! I think it was one of your inswingers Tim and it felt like a particularly 'heavy ball'.  :D
Did I really see Chris bouncing his boss by the way?

Is it me, or do I have some form of drink in my hand in almost every photo?

I like the one of the guy from B3 wiping away a tear as Kaedyn asks: 'are you sure you can't make me one for £50?'  :D

Great to meet you all, big thanks to Paul for organising!
Thankfully I managed to negotiate Tims short ball which swings in then seams further in at you! I imagine the feeling is similar to a fighter pilot with a heat seeking missile on his tail!

Thanks to the B3 guys, was great to see with how much detail you can make a bat to! Also thanks for letting me try out the softs and gloves. The gloves were so comfortable and unbelievably light! The pads were beautiful, really wrapped around the legs nicely and one being worn barely noticed them! The bat, still not sure if I was dreaming with the one I used. So responsive all around the blade! Can't believe how much of the face was pinging!

HIghlight of the night was Chris bowing to peer pressure and trying to play "pin the cherry on the boss's chest pad"!

Russ informs Imran about the B3 softs:

George is pleased with his Foxy armguard whilst Roco and Adam compare support underwear...

George will not let Stretton Fox not be featured....

Tom and Streaky discuss tactics...

Russ describes how Ayrtek can get into the glove market again to Tom...

George, clearly happy, works out his next delivery to an unsuspecting batsman while Joe prepares himself to face the demon bowling on show...

Having spent some time working the bowling machine for IJC Paul and seeing how quickly the ball went from on end to t'other, I was mentally putting my affairs in order!  :D :D  :D

Ah, you mean the "Hunter, Killer", or in Tom's case, the "Hunter, Neuter"....
