Based on the comments on here both my M&H distinction mark 1 bats are grade 3.

Quite possibly.

If I was personally grading the bat as if it were in my own collection I think I'd have just about given it a G2.

Are you brimble in disguise?

Not unless he's been on an intensive course in how to use apostrophes!

I do beleive though even Wrights are seeing less and less real grade 1 and there harder to come by..

But then again what is a grade if a bat feels right it feels right no matter what grade

Depends on what a grade one is there no industry defined grade bar wrights grading but then people re grade so who knows.

Im more bothered about weight in cleft then grains on a bat

its very true it's all about the pick up and feel very hard to choose a bat if you not picked it up or taped it with a mallet I know a bat maker who grades on performance I seen him not sell 15 grain bats as it does not preform  the way he wants and expects from his brand and if it's not pressed right he will not sell that bat

industry defined grade

Wonder if something like that could ever be set up. Just a few of the large willow suppliers joining up in a little group to define grades and grading , and then some sort of way of identifying bats graded by this group.

Not a chance the grades are fragmentated so people can profit

Makes me laugh all the performance cleft naming as well surely if your selling bats you would want them all performing after a decent press

But all this is old ground sellers brands will sell what they think and people will but accordingly

Most are more bothered about stickers anyway.

My plan is good pick up manageable weight good rebound after a few nets they go to you got a good bat

If it were that easy Dave, you wouldn't have spent so long looking for 'the one' to follow your PB...

My ones have always been there I jus. Liked buying them mate but have been picky with weight and pick up for always have but never bothered about looks or grade.

Mind currently got a international top orders batsman reject and the 1st ever production bat by a innovating brand oh and a pintu inbound.

No my bat education has taken me down some badger places and after quite a few I settled now oh hold on what this unbranded beast coming my way via pintu.

Thing is you can only use one at a time took me a while to understand that bit

Not bought into nothing mate my was in a batch of 7 he took 5

But hey you believe what you like bat has served me well this season but I guess you don't know the full story.

If you ever felt it in your hands you would know it was special and different than most bats some on here have

But then again it is crown willow and people who have crown willow will know what I'm saying.

Even had the players initials on it and I see so many have now gone for the same 1271 profile so I guess a lot of people like it.

And the truth is it not about the grains it about the sheer size for the weight.

Oh and a few others on the forum know about my bat as well but in truth it is a lovely blade do you want me to bore you more about the bat

I know the bat maker, and have been there as the international has picked and chosen his few from the several made for him.

Pro cricket hasn't "bought into" anything.
