And so we start again
« on: September 30, 2013, 07:05:01 PM »

Here's a beauty I am making up for an ex playing colleague of mine, a fantastic player and an even better man although I can't name him at this moment. It's just in its shaping stage then shaped then its first coat of oil before it's sanded and then another coat of oil before all the final sanding and finishing touches. 2-7 will be its finished weight. Very much a wand to me.

Lovely bat!

Is this the standard shape or are you doing something special here?

Its a tweak on the standard shape. He's not asked for that but I can remember the bats he was using at Derbyshire when I played with him there before he left, funny how things stick in the mind. I am just loving every minute of this career after cricket every day gets better.
Quick question to those bat companies out there. If in the next 18 months 2 years we had developed a handle that meets all the icc criteria and every other ruling out there and is of the best standard out of new products at the right price would it be of interest to you to but British.

Really in the early stages at the moment just playing around with a few products and different configurations and will give them a good trial. So when I think I've got it right I will put some notification out.

What he said - I'm one of those weird guys who thinks 6-9 grains is plenty. Superb looking blade.

Think 6-9 gives perfect balance between performance and longevity personally.  That and I like to see a more of the white wood

Ok so here's the finished product for this one which is for one of my old playing mates at Derbyshire before he left and became an even bigger legend he wanted 2-7 came in at 2-7 1/2 finished.
