Recoil 450 from Asad
« on: October 09, 2013, 02:20:13 PM »

Hi all, been a lurker on here for a while and this is my first post.

Visited Uzi Sports today for the 3rd or 4th time looking for a bargain in the end of season sale.  Anyone who has not been there it is completely worth it, it's like an Aladdin's cave!

Anyway moving on... I've seen some nice willow in the lower end Kookaburra bats so went looking for a nice one, and that's what I got!

2012 Kookaburra Recoil 450, beautiful willow with 8/9 grains that are all pretty straight, 36 mm edges.

Just wanted to say thanks to Asad who was very busy with a rep with some nice looking 2014 gear...I'm sure you'll find out which brand soon ;)  He still had time for a chat about bats and gave me a free scuff sheet for my new stick, cheers!

very very nice looking bat, kook seem to grade their bats very differently to others. How is that a 450???

I got a rogue 800 for someone and the grains were immaculate, perfectly straight and evenly spaced.

Indeed their grading seems a bit off sometimes, I think is probably due to the sheer volume of bats that they churn out every year, looks more towards a 700/800 I think...

bounced a ball on it and it's pinging pretty good already, giving it an oil later.

Just to add it's a 2'8 and picks up like a feather

pleasure meeting you, sorry i couldn't spend much time with you as Puma rep was here. All our bats are at least one to 2 grade higher if we go with grading defined for the particular models of a bat. Only pick the best bats :D
Even the puma guy was surprised for the quality of our bats

Look fab!

I'm very seriously tempted by the Recoil 450 bundle you've got on the homepage Asad - how many 450's have you got left, and what sort of weights are they?

Thanks :) Hoping this bat scores me a lot of runs now ;) nice clean face, low middle suited to my love of driving the ball and a super-light pick up!

Will say from what I could see the Puma 2014 range looked tidy, and the hand picking bats just speaks for itself, living near Gloucester there are not very many decent cricket shops around me so if I need a new stick I know where I'm headed.

And James there were probably 3 or 4 450s left, definitely worth a peek.

Great, thanks.

I'm also tempted by the Xiphos - played against a couple of guys using them this year and they were serious weapons!

we only have 1 Xiphos left , 5 star weight 2.12
Regarding the bundle, i didn't have Recoil 450 Gloves in RH, so i have replaced it with R900 and adjusted the price accordinglr
weights available are 2.8 and 2.9
