Technically i work zero hours in both my jobs.
I appreciate that i am in a fairly unique situation, with a bit more security than most other zero hours employees, but i agree with Buzz, a zero hour contract can be a positive thing. It allows me to go off on a cricket jolly like a Thames Valley Gents tour as and when i please without having to worry about how much holiday i have used up at work etc. Also allows me to be very flexible with working hours themselves.
My family business is a care agency, and i do a lot of the ad-hoc work such as dealing with county council contracts, needs/risk assessments with new/existing clients, interviewing new staff, appraising current staff etc.
And then there is Vitas Cricket, Robin is a bit of a free spirit and i knew he would need a lot of help/support and also occasionally a rudder to keep his cricket retail venture going. Being one of my closest friends i decided it was right that i stepped in to do that role.
This thread has gone off on a bit of a tangent!
