Sticker Design
« on: October 22, 2013, 10:30:31 PM »

So i've designed myself a sticker that I like that will need a bit of tweaking to make it look perfect. I am still struggling to find someone who can make them for me, been emailing countless companies, still no replys other than those who want bulk orders which I cannot afford.

If anyone can help me out with this I will be very grateful, I have had some advice but am still obviously struggling. It seems nobody seems to make affordable stickers! For a design this simple I can't see it costing more than £7-£8 a set. Anyway here is design, hope you guys like it. I don't have the skills or programmes to make it look better, so I have done my best. It is a concept, the only things I am 100% sure about are the fonts.

I am about to start making my first bat to sell on, after having success with my last bat, so obviously I need it to look appealing!

Check out a mate of mine who helped me with the Vantage 2013 stickers;

http://www.liamduignan.co.uk/

The actual cost of the stickers will depend on the supplier, quantities, quality and textures used - remember a lot of printing companies do have a minimum quantity to also take in to account.

I've used http://myvinylfrontier.com They haven't got anything on the website I don't think, but I emailed Kate Meakin direct. A Laminated A4 sticker sheet works out just under £3 (you need laminated so the ink doesn't smudge). Best think is they charge per A4 sheet, so as much as you can cram on there is included, plus if you put dotted lines round your design, they come pre-cut, so just peel away and stick on.

kate@myvinylfrontier.com

I'm sure if you email her and discuss what finish you want (matt laminate gives a good finish), if you want them transparent or something else, she'll be able to help.

The quality is ok, for the price I wouldn't argue. Obviously there are going to be better quality stickers out there but my bats look pretty smart. I didn't use the design above, I went for something different. The stickers themselves are pretty tough, they are thick enough that if they take a hit from a ball they dont tear, and they seem to stick perfectly well.

Obviously I would have preferred to go for a more professional design but since I had to make them myself I did what I could with what I had available to me. Certainly not a bad design for the first ever attempt, however next time I will try and get some made of a higher quality.

Have you spoken to these guys?

I dealt with them on an unrelated matter and they are really helpful. Also you'll be supporting British industry.

Yes Eddie, however if you only want a small amount of sets (and I mean under 20) they are far too pricey.

Would be nice to get ones done by them but for a small batmaker such as myself it's too expensive and you don't make any money, thus cannot afford new stock.

Can I suggest that your name on the stickers is not big enough.

If you cannot read it from the boundary, it will be harder to get your name out there

No specific budget but it was £15 for 5 sheets and 3 sets per sheet, so plenty of sets! Yeah I think the size needs to be a bit bigger but it's hard to relkay that when you don't visit a shop as it was all arranged online
